On the sidelines of promotion for the film – ‘Sui Dhaga’, actors Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma recently met Ms Rupal Dalal (on Anushka’s left), Executive Director, Mr Harsh Dalal (on Varun’s extreme right), Director, JD Institute of Fashion Technology, Mr. Yogesh Dalal(on Varun’s Left) Trustee, JD Educational Trust and Ms. Payal Dalal( on Anuskha’s extreme left) Faculty Director on September 26, 2018.
Both the Bollywood stars were highly impressed by JD Institute of Fashion Technology’s initiative for encouraging entrepreneurship and skill development through their in-house programmes for students belonging to the underprivileged.
The team of Sui Dhaga appreciated the Institute for various initiatives it has taken to help young designers to defy all odds and achieve their dreams which are in synergy with the theme of their movie – Sui Dhaga. In this respect, they presented a memento as a token of recognition for the Institute.
Speaking on the opportunity, Ms Rupal Dalal, Executive Director, JD Institute of Fashion Technology said, “The movie is an inspiration to our students who would like to take up entrepreneurship in the garment industry. Very few children are able to take up entrepreneurship, due to multiple reasons. We as an institution will make sure that the number increases, and will provide all support and help to students who want to dream big. We wish team Sui Dhaaga a grand success.”
The movie is sewn together with a strong storyline that defines the hardship of a common man. The story has a clear message of ' Made in India' and aims to propagate the idea of bringing back traditional forms of handicrafts. Our students have been working on such themes across platforms. We are thrilled and excited to see the response the movie will garner.
Yogesh Dalal, Director, JD Educational Trust said, “JD Institute of Fashion Technology is delighted to meet the team of Sui Dhaaga. We are proud of the fresh, Vibrant and unique interpretation of the story that revolves around self-dependency and entrepreneurship. Such sentiments have defined the Indian textile industry led by a common man with high ambitions.”
