WINNERS JD ANNUAL DESIGN AWARDS 2017

JD Institute of Fashion Technology organized its 29^th Annual Design Awards Night, a 2-day fashion runway show on 19^th and 20^th May 2017 at the Lalit Ashok Hotel in Bangalore.

 The theme for the JD Annual Design Awards, ‘Future Origins’ is inspired by the real and complex challenges faced by the mankind today. Environmental degradation is on the rise and the effects are polarizing and have pushed the economy to the edge of disaster. The ‘Custodians of Imagination’ had been vested with an opportunity to reverse the vicious cycle and manifest the origins of a new future. The collections for this year were predominantly inspired by the three planks – Innovation, Ethical and Sustainable Fashion.

 In this prestigious Fashion Awards night, the Institute recognized the extraordinary design excellence and innovative skills of the graduating students. JD’s final-year students have imagined and crafted innovative and unique collections. Each collection is under–girded by immense research into concepts, fabrics, communities and crafts that paves the way for real innovation that’s sustainable and ethical. The show witnessed almost 50 collections with more than 300 garments from our gen-next designers.

 Besides, an experienced jury of experts, selected from amongst the distinguished of the fashion fraternity, lifestyle and luxury industry evaluated the collections of these young designers and elected the winners based on their vision, interpretation, innovation, business, social responsibility and creative skills.

 Heartiest Congratulations to all the effervescent designers who put in their heart and soul in ideation and execution of their collections and have been awarded for different categories.
