Talk on Sustainable Design – Dept. of Interior Design – Raahul Khadaliya
The Dept. of Interior Design was completely blown over by the talk session delivered by Raahul Khadaliya, Founder and Director of Studio ABCD.
Born and bought up in a small town of Palanpur, north Gujarat, Raahul has studied architecture (1999 – 2001, dropped out), photography (self studied) and design (NIFT, Bangalore 2004-2008). He has over 8 years of experience in multidisciplinary design. After his graduation in design, he has been researching and developing ideas, innovations and strategical solutions around design and sustainable development.
ABCD is established in the year 2011, with initial knowledge and passion for sustainable design. Over the past few years we have worked with various clients in the current market scenario of traditional design and it’s growing acceptance. We have had an opportunity to work with established clients as well as startups. Our focus has been shifted from sustainable design to design for sustainability over the past few years to target a larger scale of organisations looking forward to sustainability related services.
Raahul is of the belief that ‘Practice before Preach’ approach is important in ideation of designs as he lives by this mantra and implements them in his designs. His thoughts are driven towards safeguarding our society and factors such as social, ethical and environmental issues should be considered before designing. His aim is to retain and revive the dying Indian art and incorporates them in his designs. He is a staunch supporter of the 3 R’s – Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.
