Steppers – Future Origin – JD Annual Design Awards 2017
Rahul Jain and Bijeta Kharel
is a conceptual space which aims to focus on conservation of nature and follow its ethics by utilizing the least amount of materials and energy. The idea behind steppers is unique because of the materials used to make it. The materials such as pavegen tiles, ETFE foil, hemp brick, bamboo charcoal, conductive paint, tesla tiles and WPC constitute in the construction of Steppers. By recycling waste materials, consuming solar power and generating electricity with each footstep, the concept is not just sustainable and ethical, but also innovative. It is a stepping stone towards adopting futuristic space. Deriving the motif from the geometrical shape – Hexagon, the conceptual space can contract and expand as per the requirement of the client. The space also guarantees functionality, as it is used optimally and is ideal for any outdoor and indoor event.
