JEDIIIANS observing World Heritage Day at Sanskriti Museum
Sanskriti Museum Visit – JD Students celebrate World Heritage Day at Sanskriti Museum
Students of our Delhi Centres, Kanpur and Lucknow visited Sanskriti Museum on 18th April 2018 to celebrate World Heritage Day. The three museums at the centre, are a magnificent resource hub for all research on the art and craft traditions of India in general, and particularly in the core areas of terracotta, textiles and everyday objects. They are a conduit for the preservation and presentation of indigenous heritage, craftsmanship, aesthetic functionality and cultural practices.
The purpose of the visit was not mere knowledge generation, but also to facilitate learning in a dynamic environment. Students got a chance to attend a workshop on Madhubani Art. Resource persons Mr Pradyumn and Ms Pushpa, practising artists of the vibrant craft form, guided the students to create their own artworks.
At JD Institute, it is our endeavour to play a proactive role in the dissemination of information and creation of awareness amongst students of our heritage and cultural values. Every Jediiian who graduates here takes back values of aesthetics and cultural vision.
