International Yoga Day observed at JD Institute
International Yoga Day observed at JD InstituteThe practice of yoga is something that has the power to heal your entire body. To promote this important day and bring a significant change in one’s spiritual aura, JD Institute of Fashion Technology celebrated International Yoga Day on the premises full of ardour and enthusiasm. Jediiians leading with Change in their attitudes, mindsets and implementation woke up to an early morning call to explore these mechanics of life. All the efforts were made to spread awareness about the harmony and peace that can be achieved with it.
The session was organized under the guidance of Ms Piyali Majumder, a yoga practitioner, gold medallist and an instructor at JW Marriott. She interacted with the students about the benefits of health and well-being. While all the other exercises take care of one’s physical condition, Yoga helps one to control mind and body and tackles with the health condition. Understanding these aspects gave a boost to our students to start looking after themselves. The faculty members, as well as the students from the department of Fashion design course and interior Design course, were acknowledged about the appropriate ways of walking and sitting which is a basic thing one should follow on daily basis.
Talking about the dos and don’ts of postures, students started with meditation and prayer. It is the ‘Dhyana ‘that alleviates negativity and helps to discipline your mind. Jediiians strived to achieve patience and emotional balance by beginning the day with it. Followed by prayer, the students practised various asanas such as Tadasana, Pada- Hastana, Bhadrasana, Shravasana etc. as listed by the common protocol from the Indian government.
The session left the students charged up with their immunity level and enriched their surroundings with a fresh breeze of air and positivity. We at JD believe in the upliftment of our students physically, mentally and emotionally and empower them to take up their daily life challenges and live a healthy.
