FIELD VISIT FOR STUDENTS STUDYING VISUAL MERCHANDISING
Students of JD Institute of Fashion Technology, Hauz Khas Campus, had an enjoyable learning experience at Promenade Mall, Vasant Kunj on 13th October 2018. The aim was to study retail formats of different brands in the organized set up of a mall. The field visit had been planned so that they could analyze marketing strategies and observe festive themes of different brands through their visual merchandising and store displays.
Students identified the elements of display in all show windows. They studied store layout plans and related them to ease of customer traffic movement and product visibility. They compared store planning and displays of international and home-grown brands. It was a good exposure for them to study different setups and to draw inspiration for their own displays and ideas of merchandise presentation.
The visit helped the students to understand retail spaces in a better way. They can apply the knowledge gained to do better displays and use the elements of display aesthetically for more impactful presentations.
JD Institute organizes such practical learning modes for better learning outcomes. Students produce better results as they understand the subject in more depth.
