CHRISTMAS CELEBRATIONS 2018 at JD INSTITUTE OF FASHION TECHNOLOY, KOCHI

Gifts of time and love are surely the basic ingredients of a truly Merry Christmas” ——- Peg Bracken ——-

There is something magical about the Christmas season. Come December and the streets are lit with lights, Christmas trees are decorated well in advance, cribs depicting the nativity scenes are put up and the house looks like one big party. The waft of freshly made goodies and plum cake fills our homes. Now what is Christmas, without the exchange of gifts? Though secretly the idea of Santa riding in his sledge pulled by reindeers is appealing! Let’s hold on to that thought! However, Christmas is celebrated every year with the same joy and fervour all around the world by young and old alike.

Rather than wait for 25^th December, JD Institute of Fashion Technology, Kochi rung in the Christmas cheer on 20^th December 2018. Keeping in mind the ethos of JD, the institute decorated the premises with biodegradable products. The staff area was decorated with wall hangings and mistletoe. Whereas, the classrooms were decorated with papers, ice-cream sticks and cotton. The Christmas tree was made with paper cups and decorated with hand cut stars and decorative balls. A crib was also put up. Students draped the dress forms with Christmas colours like red and green. After the decoration it was time for fun and frolic. There were games for the students and faculty. The institute was visited by the man himself – Mr. Santa Claus minus the reindeers and his sledge! He not only interacted with everyone but also danced. It was then time to exchange the gifts. Everyone had picked their respective Secret Santa few days back and it was time for the big reveal.

The day was concluded with a sweet treat, wherein Santa did the honour of cutting the cake with everyone. Everyone parted ways with celebratory wishes.
